He was hired for the film under the impression that he would be working on computers, and that he would play a small part in the film.

Blades in the Dark
I've ran quite a few nights of this game now and there's a lot I like about it. The flashback mechanic, which allows a player to spend a resource to have a flashback that alters the current scene, is brilliant and eliminates lots of unfortunate situations in other ttrpgs where the players try to prepare for something that doesn't actually come up. However, I'm just not all that into the setting. It's neat and fine I guess, but just not very inspirational. Going to have to try out other games with this system.

The Summer Book
For the last few months I've been savouring reading this book. Just a single chapter on a quiet afternoon or while lying in a tent on a trip and then sitting and thinking about it for the rest of the day or week. I think that's the best way to read this book and at least at in this particular moment in my life, it's probably my favorite book. I hope I find more stuff like it someday.

It's the only real option if you want to use FOSS software or even if you're just concerned about blink/chrome's general dominance, but it gets worse with every update. AI garbage, firing the servo team, raising executive pay 400% as their market share declined 85%, sent a record of all browsing traffic to CloudFlare by default, advertisements on the new tab page, used their brand to enter the saturated VPN grift market, and god knows what's next. Another funny thing is that they get nearly 100% of their funding from Google (via being paid to use Google as the default search) so naturally they oppose the EU or US splitting up Google's monopoly in any way: https://blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/mozilla-reaction-to-u-s-v-google/ I still keep using this garbage, but cannot wait for the day Ladybird finally becomes usable.

Went a few times when I was in the states and outside of cities it's often the best option. I've never been to the one in Dunedin. It's across the street from burger plant which is way nicer. Also I'd like it if there were less American fast food places in NZ so I avoid them out of principle.

Just installed this bad boy yesterday. It's still a 72 segment casio watch, but now it has a countdown timer, temperature sensor, tide predictions, shows the sunrise/sunset times, lets me flick through different timezones, can even generate 2FA codes, and still has a battery life measured in years.

The Sound of Music (film)
The opening sequence is just so iconic and instantly transports me into that meadow. I love how films used to just always have singing and dancing. It's not all rosy though you'll have to deal with some occasional 60s writer dude shit and some cringey "romance" scenes, but it's not tooo bad and otherwise it's a film with great vibes.
